Vantage point

Good morning, beautiful people! Today’s inspiration is brought to you by a beautiful desert sunrise, memories of the fun and laughter of yesterday, and a cocnut milk pumpkin spice latte compliments of Starbucks.

Yesterday, my husband and I took flight to Las Vegas to spend some time with our youngest, Sabrina. Vacationing with both of my girls a few weeks ago made me realize how much I have missed spending time with them as adults.

So when I realized we had another randomly placed day off on calendar, without hesitation we agreed to make the quick trip out West to make some memories.

It was during yesterday’s flight that I captured this image. We were flying over Arizona at the time and nearing Nevada when I gasped at the beauty below.

And it didn’t take long for me to glean some wisdom from what I saw.

The mountains pictured here were beautiful yet less intimidating from my vantage point from up above. I’ve driven past these same mountains and, at surface level, they seemed insurmountable and too tough to climb.

But from above they seemed like a beautiful variation of the earth beneath me. A wonderful compliment to the rest of the nature surrounding it.

The lesson?

For me it was a reminder that when we are up close and surface level with our mountains, i.e., challenges we face in our lives, they can seem defeating and/or insurmountable.

But when you change your vantage point and give yourself the time and space to take a step back, or in my case up, you can see them as beautiful compliments to your journey.

And what once seemed impossible or too tough to climb…

Won’t seem so insurmountable after all.

Happy Saturday!
