Good morning beautiful people! Today’s inspiration is brought to you by a balmy 48° morning, last night’s almost full moon, and a piping hot cup of pumpkin spice coffee with a dash of cinnamon and some whipped cream.
I’m a stickler for my routine. I have to be.
Between work and building a business, I have to be intentional about every moment, including downtime.
Which is why I’m up bright and early every morning planning, meditating and preparing for the day.
Not this morning.
This morning I didn’t feel like being routine so I decided to just do whatever while enjoying my coffee. When I finally got ready to head upstairs to my office, I could see the brightness coming through my unopened blinds.
But this wasn’t any ordinary brightness. I told my husband “Let’s go outside. I think the sky is pink.”
After he rolled his eyes and reminded me that it was cold, he obliged and when I opened the door, VIOLA! There it was! A morning sky with clouds tinted pink by the sunrise.
An instant smile came across my face. And with that smile came 2 important reminders.
1. Routines are great but sometimes we have to give ourselves permission to just go with it. If I forced myself to stick to my routine this morning, I definitely would have missed out on this pink sky. So glad I didn’t!
2. Sometimes it’s the littlest things that make us smile. As soon as I started grinning, I turned and look at my husband and he started smiling too. In a world of negativity, make it a point to spread happiness and that can start with a smile.
Because…
“Your smile brightens the lives of all who see it. To someone who has seen a dozen people frown, scowl or turn their faces away, your smile is like the sun breaking through the clouds.” – Dale Carnegie
Happy Wednesday!
